why I can't tyoe chinese though I have installed fcitx

I have installed fcitx.
I have started it by typing "fcitx" in the control console and I have seen the bar of fcitx,but I still can't tyoe Chinese.All my keyboard operation was considered as the English input by the system.
Can you help me?I am a Chinese, I want to use my language.

Tell us your linux language environment. If in English version, you have to install the Chinese language support software first.
