an error : when I was about to compile nasm

when I type "nasm" in command line to test if the nasm is working.
It  shows :
nasm: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.3'  not found ( required by nasm)

why ? What happen? How to solve  the problem ?
