无意中发现emacs中C-i功能

[color="DarkOrchid"]herberteuler兄，你好。我在NTEMACS的使用过程中发现一个在emacs help和emacs tutorial中没有出现的命令，这个命令是我在dired-mode中编辑文件时发现的，它就是：
C-i
这个命令是干什么用的呀，我查了半天也没查到有用的信息。你能帮我看一下吗？

能不能说得详细一些？我的 Emacs 23 for Windows 的 Dired 中，C-i 是：

1. TAB runs the command indent-for-tab-command
   
2.    which is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `indent'.
   
3. It is bound to TAB.
   
4. (indent-for-tab-command &optional arg)
   
5. 
   
6. Indent line in proper way for current major mode or insert a tab.
   
7. Depending on `tab-always-indent', either insert a tab or indent.
   
8. If initial point was within line's indentation, position after
   
9. the indentation.  Else stay at same point in text.
   
10. The function actually called to indent is determined by the value of
    
11. `indent-line-function'.
