[求助]如何在FC4下修改MAC地址

我是在/etc/init.d/network中添加了如下几句：
mac="xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx"
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 hw ether $mac
之后重启系统用ifconfig eth0检查，网卡地址已经改变，但是网络不通，ping总是报告Destination host unreachable。已经用route add default gw添加了默认网关也不行。请问
这改如何解决？谢谢。
