问个显卡驱动安装问题(最新结果)

我用的是turbolinux workstation  8,就是进不去X  windows
nivide的驱动已经装上了,输入 startX后,就进入了字符模式了.
怎么办?谢谢了?

请先说明你是用什麽方式来装 nvidia 的驱动

是在linux的分区下   ./ NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8762-pkg1.run 就安装了,然后配置x windows 但是显卡和显示器都不能检测到型号,可以显示一下nivide的画面

用xf86config配置完后保存了,可是/etc/x11/xf86config用vi打开看什么也没有

配置名稱應該是 /etc/X11/[color="Red"]XF86[color="Red"]Config

也有可能是驅動太新不再支持太老的顯卡,你的配置是什麼?

原來顯卡是較新的,那麼你能編輯 /etc/X11/XF86Config 否?沒有的話,應該找 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 來改

能够用vi打开但是里面什么都没有,我更新了xfree86到了4.6版本,配置x-windows后保存了,可是
/etc/X11/XF86Config 里面还是什么都没有

我装了XFree86 Version 4.6.0怎么还是4.2呀?这个文件在 linux下用vi看不见有内容,在windows下确能看?

版本问题,你卸载原来的没,或者你怎么升级的,,
去turbo linux 版问问?
