小弟喜欢收集影碟，但是有很多碟子是DVD的，直接放到网上共享太大了，不方便。
特请教在linux下怎么转化视频文件。

this is called dvd ripping. There are many tools under Linux that can do that.. If you are familiar with command line, you can try to learn ffmpeg and mencoder. These are two major command tool for encoding and converting formats.
