我自己是x800的显卡，没有装ati官方的驱动，可以启动Desktop Effect，不过我新鲜感一过我就把这个晃眼睛的效果关闭了。
用的是livna上的rpm，列出来就这2个包
#grep fglrx rpm.lst
kmod-fglrx-8.33.6-1.2.6.19_1.2895.fc6
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.33.6-1.lvn6
没有修改过xorg.conf
装好后，用glxgears跑的是3000多吧，基本够了。
#glxinfo|grep direct
glxinfo|grep direct
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b
direct rendering: Yes
这样，3D驱动提示有部分功能不支持，不过想起来自己也是基本不用OpenGL的功能，所以没有去管。

官方驱动不支持aiglx.安装xgl吧。真搞不明白ati到底在干什么。我原来一直都很赏识双a的东西(amd, ati),现在我觉得他们和(intel, nviadia)还是有差距的。尤其是在移动平台上。
