Gentoo/FreeBSD 6.2 stage tarballs released
The Gentoo/FreeBSD team would like to announce that new tarballs based on FreeBSD 6.2 can now be found on the mirrors in the /experimental/x86/freebsd/stages directory. Note that Gentoo/F
reeBSD is still in its infancy and is not a security supported platform. Those that do wish to install should follow the Gentoo/FreeBSD guide. If you have any questions about Gentoo/FreeBSD, the developers can be found in the #gentoo-bsd channel on the Freenode IRC network.
New Playstation 3 stage tarballs released
Another experimental release, this time for the Sony Playstation 3 platform, has been announced, with the stages including some optimizations making use of the Altivec instruction set. The new tarballs can be found in the /experimental/ppc64/stages directory on the mirrors, and users should read the Gentoo on a PS3 guide for installation instructions. People that want to help test Gentoo on the PS3 should contact the PPC64 team in their IRC channel, #gentoo-ppc64.
