请教一有关emacs问题，小女子在这儿给各位大虾道谢了！

我在本地起的emacs,然后用ssh连到一服务器上，发现在emacs里打开文件时，不能打开服务器上的，而只能看到本机的文件和目录，我该怎样设置呢或操作呢？
而且我试过先在本地执行xhost +,再telnet到服务器上，再打开emacs,发现出错，我的本机和服务器上.emacs均已设置好。

error log:

i use "ssh -Y server_addr" to log in server and run emacs, it success.
but it seems that the ~/.emacs in server is unuseful.
why? who can tell me the correctly space for default configuration emacs file.
the server os is ubuntu linux.

用vim就可以直接通过ssh通道打开远程机器的文件，我经常这样做~~~

女孩子用linux，还用emacs，真的很少见~~~

用 Linux 的不是男性就是女性 (其他的就让我们忽略不计吧), 而可以选择的编辑器除了 vim 就是 emacs, 这样说来的话, 在 linux 下用 emacs 的女性应该还是不少的

What do you mean by "unuseful" here?  The per-user Emacs configuration file is normally located in the user's home directory, i.e. $HOME.  The file's name is also held by the `user-init-file' variable.

herberteuler，unuseful的意思就是emacs起来后，我发现我在$HOME/.emacs中的设置都没起作用。环境变量HOME的设置也没有问题。

Emacs 的版本是什么？你是根据什么现象得出“在$HOME/.emacs中的设置都没起作用”的结论的？
