To reiterate some of the X.Org 7.4 features from our previous article, this release will ship with more of the drivers using libpciaccess for PCI communication, updates for X.Org on Mac OS X, compositing tests for x11perf, improved X startup/shutdown, and DRI2 integration. Sadly though, it looks like X.Org 7.4 -- which was once scheduled for release in February 2008 -- will not ship until the July timeframe. On the X.Org 7.4 bug tracker (BugZilla entry) there are still over three dozen open bugs. As the X.Org 7.4 cycle drags out, it looks like X.Org 7.5 will turn into a H1'2009 release. X.Org 7.5 will ship with Multi-Pointer X (MPX), X Generic Events, input hotness, and more than likely will be RandR 1.3.

七月份才“looks like"要发布，太过火了吧。

The release plan for X.Org 7.4 has three development releases planned (1.4.99.902, 1.4.99.903, and 1.4.99.991) before going gold

总共要有3个Development Release才到Final，而昨天才到第一个，也就是1.4.99.902，比F9带的1.4.99.901稍微进步了一点，而且还是靠Red Hat才有的，什么时候才到Final呀。
照这样下去，nVidia的家伙们会出支持F9的驱动吗？！！

xorg 7.4 和 xorg 1.5 是不同的概念，再者据说 xorg 1.5 已经 ABI stable 了，nvidia 没理由指责 Fedora

我也这样认为，可问题是ATI也没能解决X server 1.5的支持问题。虽然X server 1.41 for xorg 7.3在比原定计划晚了7个月后终于发布了了，但X server 1.5已经迟了3个月并可能继续跳票。

nvidia已经再三强调说不会发布支持Pre-release的驱动。
