我的suse10.3 3D之路怎就这么难呢??

本人用的显卡型号如下：
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 MX 440] (rev a3)
看了不少有关suse10.3 3D的安装法，一键安装和手动安装都试过了，每一个成功，还请达人指点一下，本人可谓suse的坚决支持者，可怜3D的功效至今没有享受到，哎。。
先说说一键安装的情况，我现在是在教育网，用代理可以上到国外网上去，网速也还可以，但是我yast去添加源的时候，基本上都没有一次成功过，不知道是不是yast不支持firefox的代理服务阿?还是说yast还得自行设置一下代理？不是很清楚这个，得到的结果如下：

在说说手动加载把：有不少这方面的说明，参考了一些，我自己目前的结果如下：
本人已经安装了kernel-source ,make, gcc ,当时装系统的时候用的是DVD的光盘安装的，kernel-source等这些都是盘里yast进去的，并且还自己重新编译了一边内核，init 3, 之后，运行
sh  NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.12-pkg1.run -q之后，就是同不过，其结果如下：（附带了/var/log/navidia_installer.log）

现在不知如何是好阿。。。还请达人指导指导！

try an older  version, say 96.43.xx or earlier as mentioned?

一直都不大清楚怎么在yast里头设置代理？？
能不能说详细点。。。谢谢。

刚刚在yast>network>proxy里头设置了代理，测试了一下，发现我的代理http和 https协议是可以的
但是ftp协议就不可以呢？刚查看了一下站内的记录，说是要加一个补丁，不知道我这个涉及到不。
于是将ftp项的proxy给空了，重新 一键安装之后，发现还是那个文件x11-nvidia下不下来。

终于找到一个代理不用用户名的，这样yast的proxy才可以用，但是之前的那个
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.12-pkg1.run 已经在网上找到了，所以就直接用的这个安装，而没有用一键安装。
我的安装步骤和结果如下：
init 3
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.12-pkg1.run  (忘记加-q 了，不知道有没有关系)
提示安装成功

nvidia-xconfig --composite --render-accel --add-argb-glx-visuals -d 24
没报错

接下来用的是一键安装compiz-fusion ..安装成功

重启，
没出现3D效果

于是去control center -> look and feel 中，
却没有发现 3D effect，。。

不知道原因出在哪里？。。。。。还请达人出来帮帮。。。。
