firefox连接超时时间设置

我的Archlinux上firefox连接超时等待时间超过3分钟,怎样设置把连接超时的时间设程30秒?
在网上查过了,以前的版本用 Network.http.connect.timeout 设置,现在以经不用了.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.connect.timeout 上说 "Currently, the timeout is determined by the system-level connection establishment timeout."
什么是 system-level connection establishment timeout? 我试过了好象wget,w3m的超时时间都是3分多.
