装phpBB 2 出错了

在安装过程中提示
An error has occurred during installation
The php configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you choose

我选的数据库是MYSQL3.X,装的是MYSQL3.3.x
为什么会这样呢，

还有我的MYSQL在APACHE也不能用耶！

好像是php的问题，如果是自行编译，是否加入 --with-mysql选项
如果是RPM包，是否安装php-mysql包
