I have configured dovecot with imap. Everything works fine. Then I run mkcert.sh to generate the certficate: /usr/share/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem and /usr/share/ssl/pricate/dovecot.pem.
Then on browser, run:
https://hostname:993
It pops up certificate questions, click "yes". After a while, got messages:
* OK dovecot ready. GET BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. Accept: BAD Too many argument elements UA-CPU: BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. Accept-Encoding: BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. User-Agent: BAD Too many argument elements Host: BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. Connection: BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. Accept-Language: BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. * BAD Error in IMAP command received by server. * BYE Disconnected for inactivity.
****************************************************
What does this mean? How to verify imaps is working or not? If I use evolution email client, point to imap server, select "always use SSL" option, it works fine. When I open evolution email client, it will pop up the certificate question and then open the folders. But why it doesn't work when access from the browser? What should I expect from the https://hostname:993?
Thanks a lot for any reply |
