Dapper 启动错误

经常启动时出现问题，出现如下提示后就卡住不动了。

(nm256是显卡，下面应该输出的好像是touchpad)
不过并不是每次引导都无法进入系统，两次开机如果间隔的时间比较长，就可能进入系统。(今天进取过两次, 怎么样能够成功没看出什么规律来)
机器上双系统，如果我从ubuntu重起至win xp，网卡就工作不正常，如果从xp重起至ubuntu启动过程就无法完成，救援模式也是如此。不过启动停止的位置可能会不同。 今天有两次能正常进入.

机器是dell比较老的一款本本，
Latitude Ls
PIII 400
256SDRAM
40G硬盘
显卡neomagic 2M显存
主板是intel i440bx

唉，真是痛苦啊，是不是硬件兼容性的问题？请大家帮助。
