linux下硬盘读盘的声音很大,在xp下很小?

我装的是FC4,硬盘是TOSHIBA MK4025GAS,在xp读盘是那种沙沙的声音,在linux下就成了格格的声音,而且声音很大,能让这硬盘声小点吗.

但在xp下很正常呀,算比较安静的。就是linux下声音很大。

我和你相反.WINDOWS下有吱吱声,一开始以为是硬盘和电源问题,结果换了大功率电源和新硬盘,声音依然,但切换到SUSE下,却安静了

我和楼主的问题是一样的,我装过几个版本的Linux是一样的,windows下声音很小,而在Linux下声音很大,我用的是ext3文件系统,不知道是不是和这个文件系统有关呢?我正在找方法看能不能减轻这个问题

应该是有什么任务在执行updatedb之类的东西?

在pio 模式 即dma 没打开,或者  读写  缓存  之类  没打开
对于win 要安装正确的主板驱动,硬盘驱动. 然后在设备管理器中打开缓存,
linux 用hdparm 之类的程序,不过前提是内核支持这个芯片组,也就是说 这个发行版自带了这块主板的驱动.

我也遇到了这个问题,恼火啊,我装了ubuntu 10.04. windows xp 声音很小,linux 很大

现代硬盘很多支持噪声控制模式,看看hdparm -M的说明或许有帮助。
pc3k之类专业硬盘维修工具带有噪声抑制测试,打开、关闭寻道噪声差异还是比较明显的。
