安装时Fedora时出现Unable to read package metadata错误！

看了好多遍了，本来以为有些Redhat的基础，会上手很快，结果都几天了，连个系统都没装上，郁闷。。。

跟我的问题一样，输入完密码后就弹出错误。

解决问题过程如下：
yup, had the same problems installing from the CDs, Fedora would reboot on me after i enter the root password whether i tried anaconda or the text install.

what i did was copy the 5 CD iso images to my 2nd HD (i didn't bother to download the dvd image, since i checked the hash of my files and they were all correct), copy also the /fedora directory of the first CD (just in case it needed to read the tree structure) then at the boot prompt (boot at the start of installation, i typed in

linux askmethod

so that it would ask me where to find the install images. i just pointed it to my 2nd HD and all worked well.

i think there's something wrong with the xml file/s, somebody ought to check that out. this is the first time i installed any flavor of linux, i hope my difficulties on this installation is not a sign of things to come.

但是我有一点不太确定，他是把/fedora文件夹及文件放到同安装映像文件在同一个路径么？

？？？用5张ISO就行了，不用解压缩的。我看过你的menu.lst的，应该没有问题的，如果要DVD就要解压缩，当然路径就已经在一起了啊。。同一个解压缩出来的东西难道还会跑到不同路径的。？？

没办法，下载了个Fedora4，安装一切都很顺利。
对了，安装Fedora5，连接X Server失败，只能用TEXT模式安装，但安装Fedora4却是图形模式。

Fedora也真是的！！！！

呵呵,其实啊。.Fedora5也相当与一种测试版本而已,毕竟没有红帽子成熟,我是这么认为的，我装系统倒是一会儿,配置Fedora5的显卡驱动到现在还没有好,还有Oracle数据库也没有装完。...:comp
