Question : about home path change

When I installed the Ubuntu 6.10, I set the path ' /home' to another partition (not the root partition '/'), but now I want to merge '/home' to the root partition. What should I do ?  Is it OK if I only move all the file to the root path and don't do any other settings ? Thanks.

mv ur /home to / partition
edit /etc/fstab and remove the /home line
