求救，安装vmware-player出现错误，不能正常使用？

我的系统是ubuntu6.06，今天安装了vmware－player，想用其虚拟一个xp。
在sudo apt-get install vmware-player是出现错误：

Starting VMware services:
   Virtual machine monitor                                            failed
   Virtual ethernet                                                   failed
Module vmnet is not loaded.  Please verify that it is loaded before
running this script.

invoke-rc.d: initscript vmware-player, action "start" failed.
dpkg：处理 vmware-player (--configure)时出错：
子进程·post-installation script·返回了错误号·1
在处理时有错误发生：
vmware-player
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)


但是，在系统工具中已经添加了vmware-player,运行的时候在选择＊.vmx文件时停止反应，只能强制退出。

请问各位高手大侠们，如何处理，不胜感激！

配置不过去呢？如何配置，请高手指教啊！

我是卸了重装的 ，不知道什么问题 ， 重装了几次就ok了
