help! I can't input the character 's' under FC6

after I updated four packages(I forgot which four:-( ) today,I can't input the
charactor 's' in the terminal.
I tried to copy 's' to the terminal,but it dosn't work either.
However,'S' is OK.
can anyone help me?

p.s.I can type it in other programs except the terminal and gnome-terminal
