安装 proftpd-1.3.0不成功，./configure命令报错

下载了安装包proftpd-1.3.0.tar.gz，解压，进入解压后的目录后，准备按照./configure; make; make install的步骤编译安装，但是在运行./configure后，倒数第二行报错，执行make后会提示 “没有指明目标并且找不到 makefile", 我想应该在./configure时没有成功，因而没有产生makefile文件
      急需安装此软件， 请各位帮帮忙。谢谢！

      我使用的系统是Ubuntu 9.04，内核2.6.30
