改了主机名以后就不能用原来的用户登录mysql了？(rh9.0)

如下所示：
[root@Linux bin]#./mysql -u root -p
Enter password:
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

只能这样启动：
[root@Linux bin]# ./mysql
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 2 to server version: 4.0.14-standard

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer.

mysql>

把你的user表内容中user,host,password三个字段的内容贴出来看一看。
注：版主，为什么会是搜索路径的问题呢，好像没有什么关系哦。

你不能用mysql -u root -p 登录是因为：
你的user表的host值不对了，host值还是你以前的主机名，没有更新。
你能用mysql登录是因为：
你user表中有一条user值是root,host值是localhost的记录，而且没有设置密码。
