nvidia驱动用yast安装就行了

1) Kernel sources must be installed and configured. Usually this means
installing the 'kernel-source' package with YaST2. Update it - if not
already done - via YaST2 Online Update (YOU) and configure it then
with the following commands:

#cd /usr/src/linux
#make cloneconfig
#make prepare-all (only for kernel-source >= 2.6.5-7.75)  

2) Use the nvidia installer for 1.0-6106.

a) kernel-source < 2.6.5-7.75

  #sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run

b)kernel-source >= 2.6.5-7.75  

  #sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux  

3) Configure XFree86 with

# sax2 -m 0=nvidia (0 is a digit, not a letter!)  

NOTE: There is no need to try to enable 3D support.It's already enabled  , when the nvidia driver is running

锋锋版主，我用的是nvidia的显示卡，安装的驱动是6110

虽然how to里面是那样说的，又要编译源代码什么的，不过我没有这样安装

我在控制中心里面改成纯文本模式，就是运行级3，然后重新启动，这样就不会打开x-windows了

然后我直接输入这样的命令#sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run -q

接着出现一个屏幕，问我接受不接受之类的，当然接受了，然后开始安装，又告诉我安装成功，这时候我都不用重新启动，直接#startx，就出现nvidia的界面了，然后进入了图形界面的系统

在控制中心里面，opengl已经enable，而且需要使用opengl才能正常启动的软件，比如maya也一点问题都没有了

我没有做这些步骤：
#cd /usr/src/linux
#make cloneconfig
#make prepare-all (only for kernel-source >= 2.6.5-7.75)
#sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run
#sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux

请问会留下什么隐患吗？或者我那样做的根本不对，应该重新做一边上面的步骤才好？他们有什么不同吗？

这一步还是要吧。
前面那些是（kernel-source >= 2.6.5-7.75）的情况没升级过内核就不用管了。（系统中但一定要安装内核源代码。）
