It is a jargon on CD writing.  On-the-fly means copying a CD in real time, i.e. NO need to copy the whole disc content to the hard disk as a image file and then write the image file back to a blank disk.

on the fly 意思是直接拷贝两张CD,就是不使用磁盘镜像用一边从其中一张CD中读数据一边向另外一张光盘中写入读到的数据的方法拷贝CD
