刚用文本模式安装完Fedora7， 液晶显示器， 无法进入Xwindows， 显示器提示非最佳模式， 黑屏， 我的xorg.conf已经贴出来了， 各位帮忙看看。

我的显卡是nvidia Geforce 6800GS  PCI插槽
   显示器是 Samsung SyncMaster 710NZ   液晶显示器

  xorg.conf文件的主要部分如下：

我看了一下这方面的帖子， 怎么别人说的分辨率， 刷新频率什么的， 我的这个文件怎么这么少， 什么都没有， 而且没有monitor这个结点。

好像有大侠说过现在 Xorg 自动读取显示器 ROM 中的数据来设置。所以这些东西都可以不要了。
不过不是最佳模式它就不干了，这显示器也太牛了。算是自动保护？如果可以的话，看看显示器可不可不先强制显示模式。或者自己把 monitor 或者 display 之类的设置加上去试试。还有就是 system-config-display 命令。

我的F7刚装完也是这个样子，xorg.conf里面内容少的可怜
幸好我之前FC6的这个配置文件有备份，直接拿来覆盖了就可以了

我的这个文件内容。
显卡：GF6600
显示器：三星226bw
已经安装了nvidia的官方驱动 100.41 版

感谢楼上2位， 问题已经解决。

很奇怪， 我把Drive的"nv"改成"vesa"就能进去了， 不过颜色只能最高只能用16位， 24位用不了， 想问一下， 要支持24位， 是不是需要安装显卡驱动？

刷新了一下，重复了， 删掉

那个 nv 就是驱动，不是就叫 driver 嘛。你改了，自然不行。还有 nv 的官方驱动看样子你没装，至于你到底装没装只有你自己清楚噢。
试试 system-config-display 图形界面的，方便一点。
参考一下吧，我是 intel 的显卡， nv 怎样不好说。
