Linux 字体微调 - windows 效果版

实在是厉害。按照这个方法尝试，实在是我的linux系统显示字体最漂亮的一次。
现在不知道楼主有没有办法把其他字体也弄到linux下呢？例如方正的准圆体。这个字体很漂亮，但是在linux下很失真，搞了好久，都弄不清楚怎么才能搞好。
还有其他一些字体，例如MS的幼圆之类的

这个好像是GTK程序的问题.. 如果没有英文, 会把数字当作中文来选择字体..

很佩服楼主的钻研精神。  我现下在为字体苦恼呢。 这应该是相当全的帖子了。

单凭作者认真钻研的精神, 也值得肯定！即使不美化，光看看那些资料就很受用了。

我个人感觉，使用 SimSun, NSimSum, MingLiu, PMinLiu ，18px以下 关antialias, 开hinting, 效果就已经非常不错。不过新浪等网站，下划线太靠近文字，确实是个大问题。楼主的方法似乎能解决。

debian 中如果使用XFree86 默认的 dpi 是 100 ，是在 /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc 中写死的，可以直接改成你自己的，比如：

1. exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 90 -nolisten tcp

I am on a Ubuntu 6.10 system.
i can't type any Chinese character, so plz let me state my problem in English.

Following the steps in your instruction, there was a difference in my environment, that's when I ran the command : dpkg-reconfigre fontconfg, it didn't prompt any place to select "Native" for hinting, or "Always" rendering text at a subpixel level.

My Locale is zh_CN.
After I restarted my X-window(In fact, I also tried to reboot the system), I found all the chinese characters can't display normally at all, in any place, i couldn't see anything but some squares. Later, i changed back the PANGO support for firefox to TRUE, this time the characters can be recognized, but the words were just as same as before, or ever uglier.

After setting PANGO for firefox to FALSE, I tried English Locale and I found the alphabets were really good-looking, but the Chinese character still couldn't be displayed. I then changed PANGO to TRUE, this time Chinese characters could be displayed in Firefox, but in the Title Bar of Firefox and other places of the system, as same as what they were in zh_CN locale, i could only see blank squares.

What should I do plz?  I would be really appreciated if you could give me some suggestion on this problem.
