Hi, everyone

I am a linux beginner. I have used Mandrake Linux before. However, I got into its fancy graphic interface and I learned very little.

I learned too much this time through the installation of Gentoo. The 22 pages of installation guide is so enlightful that I understood a lot about how linux is running.

By the way, I love Portage system in Gentoo. It embodied the core spirit of networking era, "Get connected and go online". I am tired of paying for free software in Mandrake package. Now, I can get everything online just by typing "emerge"

I would like to stick to Gentoo and improve myself.
I have not set up my Chinese support in Linux yet. Sorry for using English instead of my native language.

I came back from a bar, nearly drunk, and finished my basic LFS 5.0 installation for the first time. It starts exteremly fast. Now I can browse the webpages via lynx, cool.

I spent 2 days on it and I think it worth doing this.
