我刚开始用linux是从rh7.x版本开始的，当时用它纯粹是因为名气
现在用mandrake9.1，发现无论是稳定性，速度还是配置。rh系列都没法比，至于易用性就更是如此了。至于有些人说的rh在服务或者服务配置方面要比man好，这一点作为个人也觉得没有感觉。还有在软件丰富方面，我觉得支持man的也足够多了。最好的一个优点就是对ntfs的支持了，rh9.0加载ntfs时，同一代码用在不同机上居然不行（不同）！！还有某些机用rh9时，鼠标点住窗口晃动，必定死机！！！我觉得rh没有办法跟mandrake比

好像基于龙芯的那个电脑第一次启动，用的操作系统就是LINUX啊（还用VI记下了这一个激动人心的时刻）；占有率最高的并不是最好的，就像Windows操作系统和80x86 CPU，如果军方也是动不动就罢工的Windows，那怎么跟人家打仗，而且大家都知道，Windows的安全性也是很差的。

现在英特尔（们）常常推出什么先进的技术，从一个侧面上也可以反映出80x86这种构架不合理的地方太多，试想，如果早就设计合理，怎么要这么多的修修补补？

龙芯是RISC构架，即通常超级计算机使用CPU的构架，一种本身比x86更优秀的构架，效率和x86不在一个档次上，在较低主频上可以有较高x86主频CPU的性能，浮点运算更强。

苹果使用的PowerPC G3/G4都是RISC构架的
这就是为什么苹果虽然看起来主频很低，但是速度很快（不够由于Intel的宣传使得mHz深入人心，苹果也在考虑转到x86,不然别人看到他的主频都不敢买）

像我同学的AMD Athlon 1800+ (0.13)，性能测试超过P4 1.9G
可是主频才1533mHZ

上面说的两种CPU都是同样的构架，我现在用的也是AMD的CPU，感觉还不错：）同时买是图它的价钱比较低（性价比高）。

RISC处理器的效率很高，主频不用那么高就能够发挥很好的性能，听说苹果机所用的处理器只用散热器而不用加风扇，太好了

运行速度快。界面好看。配置方便。
但如果把debian用熟了，也很好。

我的本本是128M,PIII500,跑红帽跑不动，太慢了，换成MDK9.1之后感觉快了很多，比较满意，它带的控制中心也很好用

Athlon当然是x86
不过设计和intel的不一样嘛，intel的处理器效率低，不得不提高频率来换取性能
这种设计弱点可以变成卖点，也是intel市场运作的成功之所在

Redhat同时致力于桌面系统和企业版系统
Mardrake则专注于桌面应用 大胆采用各种最新的甚至是正处在开展中的软件
所以在多媒体 游戏等方面会比其它发行套件显得更丰富些
说启动Redhat比Mardrake快只是狭隘之谈
因为 Mardrake立志于个人桌面 所以一般的服务并没有加载
所以比Redhat快一些 Redhat也可以做到

I have switched three times, I finally stay with RH9.

I tried Mandrake first, it is pretty good, at least looks. Easy to be installed, everything worked pretty
easy without any hassle.

But after a couple day, I got too many headacke. Rpm is not that easy to find, I was not good
enough to get everything compiled and work on Mandrake. Although I tried to build my kernal for my
computer. because it dead` if I left it there for a day. But my kernal building is not that easy. Finally
it will not start if I use my kernal to boot my computer.

Then, switch! RH9. My sound card is not working in RH8, and I have tried ALSD, not sure about the
name, but anyway, it is not posible for me to make it work. Tried a couple day, and I was please by
the online update tool. A little thing to keep everything upto date. But I truthed RH too much. I don't
know how many package I have upgraded, the OS just crashed.

Then, you know what I am going to do, jump back to Mandrake 8. Still nice if I don't think about
the halting problem. I forgot what is the reason I switched again from M to RH.

Might be the RH9 publishing. I don't care about the sound card anymore, cause I don't need it, there
is no time for game or entertiment. My printer is not in the supported list too. (8-\, that is acceptable.
Who use printer now. It is my home. Beside these problem, everything else worked just fun and
smoothly. My postgres, Tomcat, JOnAS, iptables and KDE are good enough for my PIII800.

Thanks RH, hope they can make some good money. Heard they lost a lot in this year. Hope they can
keep running their business forever.
