fcitx dependency problem

Hi, sorry for speaking english...
I have downloaded the fcitx_2.0.1-0.1_i386.deb, and tried to install it on my debian.
however, I got the following errors

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of fcitx:
fcitx depends on libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4); however:

Errors were encountered while processing:

It seems that my system is not new enough to install fcitx, but when I run apt-get, the computer tells that there is no newer version to install.
Can some one tell me what should I do with it?  Thanks a lot.
