emerge rsync后的错误

刚安装了系统。emerge rsync后。准备安装gnome, 输入emerge gnome,错误如下
：
!!!ARCH is not set...Are you missing the /etc/make.profile symlink?
!!!Is the symlink correct?Is your portage tree complete?

然后跳出，不再编译。

portage tree 应该complete了，因为最后有一个什么update done!
后面紧跟着提示Ａｎ　ｕｐｄａｔｅ　ｉｓ　ａｖａｌｉａｂｌｅ．Ｉｔ　ｉｓ　ｈｉｇｈｌｙ　ｒｅｃｏｍｍｅｎｄｅｄ　ｕｐｄａｔｅ　ｙｏｕｒ　ｐｏｒｔａｇｅ．．．．．

参照官方的做法：rm /etc/make/profile
ln -s　/usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2004.3 make.profile
结果ｅｍｅｒｇｅ　ｇｎｏｍｅ出现如下错误：

'str' object has no attribute 'insert'
'rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles; emerge sync'
may fix this. if it does not then please report this to
buys.gentoo.org and if possible. a dev on #gentoo (irc.freenode.org)

怎么没人回答阿，我论坛上搜了半天，也没能解决。。。。

开个玩笑:confused:

目前正在解决中，不知道是否正确了。不过先写下来。

又把原来的连接改了回来：
ln -s /usr/portage/profiles/default-x86-2004.2 /etc/make.profile
(用ln -s /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2004.2 /etc/make.profile就行不通，还是出现错误)
然后rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles
emerge sync
etc-update
然后再
ln -s /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2004.3 /etc/make.profile
emerge gnome
似乎已经可以了。
不过我还是不明白原来为什么会出现上面的错误。
