Foresight Linux is a Distribution which showcases some of the latest and greatest from GNOME. Some of the things that may not be mature enough for some of the other distros. Some of the more innovative things are included, like beagle, howl, and the latest hal. All of this plus some nice, clean default themes and artwork.

Where does the name Foresight come from? Glad you asked! Many things about Foresight are innovative, not just some of the applications that are included. The biggest of which is Conary, which is a new way of looking at package management. Also, a work in progress, Oversite for web based systems management.

我今天安装了最新的foresight linux 0.9.4版，采用最新的gnome2.14作为唯一的桌面环境。主要是想看看最新的gnome究竟怎么样。总的感觉是，gnome2.14比gnome2.0有明显的改善，界面还挺顺眼，但在易用性上比KDE差很多，文件管理器也太简陋。程序运行的速度与红旗Linux4.1差不多，网络配置总崩溃（8139网卡）。
