xeyes &

chmod 700 /etc/X11/xinitrc.d/xeyes

chmod todd.todd /etc/X11/xinitrc.d/xeyes
其他人看不到了
但为啥root登陆也能看到xeyes

只要是有x的权限，root都可以执行，不管它属于谁！
root是上帝！


另: 如果你只希望todd自己启动x的时候可以看到xeyes，你应该把配置写入只用todd会接触到的文件，而不是所有人都会接触到的文件中！

可以这样做
1.在~todd目录中写脚本 test.sh
   内容为
    #!/bin/sh
    xeyes&
  保存后 chmod 777 test.sh
2.在/etc/X11/xinit/xinitd/目录下写一脚本 test,内容如下
  #!/bin/sh
     if [ -f $HOME/test.sh ]; then
        . $HOME/test.sh
     fi
    保存后，chmod 777 test
这样就可以实现楼主的目的吧

RHEL4里面ignore了不带.sh后缀的文件，害得我试了半天未遂，改为xeyes.sh就好了
