使用freetype2.1.10的XDJM，有没有出现这个问题呢？

在XMMS字体选项里选择字体时，X崩溃。（比如fang songti)
出错信息：

未知原因的崩溃，晕死。
把xorg.conf里的load freetype，注释掉就好了。
用不了freetype。

我这里也有这样的问题，只要一用控制中心里面的字体安装程序安装字体，XMMS选字体的时候X就会崩溃，打开mplayerX也会崩溃，一直都不知道是何原因，没想到是freetype的问题，谢谢楼主

把freetype源码目录下的src/sfnt/sfdriver.c,370，371两行改一下，重新编译一下freetype2就可以了。

我的是在更换local为zh_CN.gbk之后启动不了，错误信息是捕捉到信号11，就没了。

试试重装一下XORG。
偶前几天也出现这个问题。不过偶这里并没有出现无法启动X的问题，只是启动某些程序时X崩溃（lamip,icecc之类）。后来发现是GLX模块有问题，就pacman -S xorg.问题就解决了。
当然偶这里是集成的显卡，偶没有装显卡驱动之类的东西，具体情况还得自己多搜一搜。

可是我修改了仍旧没用。也重新emerge了xorg。。。

改用freetype2.1.9就好了
