作者终于对Win4lin不满了

Statement:

I am sorry to say that this site no longer supports Win4Lin, Inc products in any
form.

The collapse of any obvious support for the win4lin9x product is not only a grea
t shame but, in my opinion, a slap in the face to all the loyal customers of Win
4Lin, Inc.

We paid for the product in good faith and have been consistently let down and mi
sled for some months. Bear in mind the 2.6.12 kernel was released on the 17th Ju
n with the 2.6.13 kernel being released a few days ago. Nothing happened. Jim Cu
rtin promised kernel updates and patches on the 5th August. Nothing happened.

The most common question I have been asked is why I do not host the older Pickle
dOnion patches?

Well, the way I see it is that for every download of a patch from my site, that
is one less complaint and one less email to Win4Lin (and I have had some 1500 2.
6.12 kernel patch downloads). When there is an alternative available people use
that, and quite rightly so. However, it reduces pressure on the source of the pr
oblem.

If you want kernel patches, the only place you will get them is from Win4Lin, In
c. Email them and ask. Post your displeasure on their forums. You paid for their
proprietary product. Why are they not supporting you as they said they would?

I offer my sincere thanks and gratitude for the tremendous support I have receiv
ed over the past couple of years, but especially in the past 3 or 4 months as of
ficial support has dwindled away.

As for the long term. I will not support Win4Lin again and so this site will not
host any patches for the Linux Kernel now, or in the future. I offer my apologi
es for people who may need the patches, but can only reiterate my thoughts: Comp
lain to Win4Lin, Inc.

不干了
他说的也是
为什么一个商业公司要个人来写补丁？？？
一点都不公平
可能作者一点报酬都没有吧
这样写了几年
要我也不干
这样也只能用.12.3的内核才能用win4lin了
