it's quite a fault to say /boot is unecessary.
To be serious, I think it's a good practice to split a system into separate file systems. I mean it's quite necessary to keep system well controled and flexible. Also security.
And it's a skill we should learn. To evaluate the usage of resources and well organize every potential consumer.
Linux is not only beautiful or fast. It should run as a server! So in learning, to my point of view, we have to keep it in mind. Or one day, when we put it into real world, it would be a big failure. |
