求助：debian系统转移，硬盘（hda5）－>cf卡（hdd1）？

硬盘上hda5安装了debian系统，lilo引导，有一块1G容量的cf卡。目标是拔掉硬盘，在cf卡上跑系统。
目前我已经做的工作：
将hdd1 mount，并将hda5上的文件cp －a 到hdd1上。
修改了fstab：添加 /dev/hdd1  /mnt/hdd1 ext2 defeauts  0 0
chroot /mnt/hdd1 /bin/bash(这条命令不知用得对不对？)
在hdd1上apt－get  remove lilo，apt－get install lilo
重启进bios，修改boot，尝试后，不能从cf卡启动。

折腾了一天了，进展较少。期待大家给出看法、建议，thx a lot

将/dev/hdd1 设为根目录
将原来的根目录hda5去除
不要lilo。。。用grub

非常感谢兄台的建议。我装的是lilo，当时因为grub装不上，就偷懒装了lilo。目前我就想尝试把系统移植了先，其次考虑优化裁减。
将/dev/hdd1/设为根目录，我的语句：chroot /mnt/hdd1 /sbin/lilo，回车后显示：
Warning: '/proc/partitions' does not exist, disk scan bypassed
Warning: The boot sector and map file are on different disks.
Added Linux *
Skipping /vmlinuz.old
Added Linux-custom

我拔掉硬盘后，在bios里修改first boot 为hdd0-3，启动后均是：
no bootable partition in table.
这个怎么办呢？大家给点建议，thx
