求救: 无法安装Grub 导致安装Ubuntu失败

SATA硬盘上已经安装了win xp系统, 分区情况:
sda1    windows xp system
sda4    Extend partion  Windows
        sda5 ....

分区 sda3为linux swap分区
     sda8 为ext3分区

在设置安装grub位置的时候,默认安装位置为  (hd0)
      默认设置及更改为   /dev/sda    及   /dev/sda8  均不行

请问各位应该设置为什么呢?

要使用grub的写法，比如 hd0、  hd0,7等

cat /boot/grub/device.map

然后用（）里的代号。

Fill the location as "(hd0,0)",  install OK, reboot...
while can't boot, "missing operating system..."
use PM8.0 change the active disk into the windows disk,
then reboot,

OK!...

I can use my Wireless net-card (Intel 3945abg) now, but haven't install the Chinese input tools...
