难道redhat9自带的mysql不行？

看了几乎所有的帖子，还是找不到解决办法

redhat9. 安装北南兄得图形化安装步骤，一步一步过来的(感谢！)，选软件包时选的everything，现在启动mysql时却错误，每次启动时都说：
mysqld failed. The error was: Initializing MySQL database: Sorry, the host '4' could not be looked up.
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname.
If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script with
the --force option
[FAILED]

然后#mysql -f
他就说：ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

进入/var/lib/mysql
ls发现里面什么都没有……

为何如此？谢谢！

我看别人也有些相似的问题，估计遇到这问题的兄弟不少，却为何没有某个精华帖子真正解决问题的呢？

我的mysql是彻底的不能启动了……

我用rpm装的时候很好。。。。不知道你是什么版本

rpm -e mysql
先把原来的卸了。再装一次试试

果然是hostname的问题…………我改成localhost就可以了……
我本来的hostname是一个数字，难道不行？
还有我现在改了对以后别的有什么影响？

这个问题很清楚：
Sorry, the host '4' could not be looked up.
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname.
就是hostname错了，"4"是非法的hostname，可以设置成英文单词，
也可以设置成4.4.4.4这样的IPv4格式。
