how to show Chinese?

I install RH 7.2, and it can show Chinese in Konqueror browser and netscape browser.  but any other text editor such as kword or advanced text edit can't show Chinese. I want to set charactor set to gb2312, but there is no gb2312 in these tool's setting.
I'm so urgent, because I want to read xsim's readme.in file.

I hava solve this problem, through looking before forum list.
I haven't install some font and i18.... ,now I can show all chinese ,even menu with chinese.
and I found why I coundn't make xsim 0.3.9,3 think this version have some problem, I download xsim 0.3.9.2, and use the same way to configure and make , it can make.
