由哪位兄弟可以告诉我这道习题怎么做？

这道题是我在教材上看到的试验题，实在是不知道怎么解决，所以问问网上的朋友们。是软件管理相关的，原题如下：

Apply errata. On ftp://server1.example.com/pub/ is a directory containing errata currently applicable to your system. Bring your system up to date by applying these arrata packages. Bear in mind the following:
a. You can copy the files to a local file system, or access them from server1 using an NFS mount. If you copy them to the local system, make sure you have sufficient space in the target file system.
b. You should not apply errata to the kernel using the normal package upgrade method. Updated Kernel packages should be applied with an (i)nstall operation operation, not an (u)pgrade operation.

这道题，我弄不明白，如何比较后得知我系统上哪些rpm包需要升级，而那些不需要升级。即使知道以后，我想肯定也不是收工的一个一个升级的，就是写脚本应该也不是正确办法。我想应该是使用up2date工具吧。

但是我昨天自己在一台机器上作了一个WWW服务器，并在上面见了一个目录，将所有的rpm包都复制上去了，而且可以使用浏览器看到。然后再up2date的配置文件里将这个网址覆盖掉原先的有网址的地方，但是up2date都不能使用，提示我“permanent removed”。我就不知道该怎么办了。

无奈之下，只好请教各位朋友们了，如果那个朋友对这个习题了解，还往不惜赐教，非常感谢！！

Linux不是Windows ,没有必要升呀升的!
我用这末多年Linux做服务器,一直是自己打patch！当然也不存在有很多包要升级的问题！
我的服务器用的还是2.2的内核，稳定而安全！～0～
