root下启动不了startx

我装的是turbolinux database service6.5,以前运行正常.近几天不知怎的login:root,不能启动x window,
操作过程如下:
[root@db /root]# startx

Fatal Server error:
Server is already active for display 0
   if this server is no longer running,remove /tmp/.X0-lock and start again
   when reporting a problem related to a server crash,please send the full server output,not just the last messages.

但是以其它用户身份都可以成功启动x window.不是何故.请各位帮忙.

Arming

清空/tmp试试
# cd /tmp
# rm -fr *
