Installation procedure
For this release, you must do a fresh install (i.e. you can't upgrade).
System requirements
400MHz Pentium II-class machine or equivalent
128Mb RAM
1.0Gb disk space.
Installing to a new partition
To install QNX Momentics into a new partition on your QNX Neutrino host machine:
Using the CD that was shipped to you (or a CD that you burned from an ISO image that was downloaded from our website), insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive and reboot your machine. When prompted for the type of installation, press F3 (new partition). Follow the instructions on your screen. At the end of this stage of the installation, you'll be prompted to remove the CD and reboot your machine.
At the login prompt, login as user root with no password.
When prompted to complete the installation, insert the CD again. Press Retry.
The QNX Software Installer will list the target-specific packages you can install. Select the targets you want to develop for, then click Install.
Installing QNX Neutrino as a file within a Windows partition
You have the option of installing QNX Neutrino as a file under Windows, but note that you must be running a FAT32 filesystem.
Click the "Install QNX Neutrino OS into Windows file system" button in the QNX installer.
If your machine can't boot from CD
If you want to install QNX Neutrino on a machine that can't boot from CD:
Click the "Create Bootable Install Floppy" button in the QNX installer.

Installer session log
If you encounter a problem with the QNX Software Installer, please send us the log file called session.log, which you should find in the following place:
$QNX_HOST/etc/system/package/session.log
Note that $QNX_HOST is / under Neutrino.
