郁闷
郁闷,我DIY了一份英文的,寄到那个邮箱,要求回执,可是好像根本没人收信
Hi!
I am a user of your company's product. The reason i've written this mail is that
i've bought a USB webcam but i couldn't make it work with my Linux box.
I'm using 2.4.21 kernel, or 2.6.3 which i compiled hoping that it
would help with my webcam. It did not. None of the drivers provided by
the kernel worked. I listed the /proc/bus/usb/devices file according to
which my webcam is not even recognized as an imaging device, and the
snd-usb-audio ALSA module is loaded for the device, probably for the
microphone on it. Entries /dev/video0... are existing with proper major
and minor numbers. So the problem couldn't be with the settings. In the
end i tokk a screwdriver, and decided to see what kind of chip does it
have. It turned out that the chip is a
Vicom ZC0301p
for which i couldnt find a Linux driver. (The manufacturer provided
drivers only for window$, of course.)
Is there any Linux driver for this chip, or have somebody already started
developing it? Or should i start selling my webcam for those who are
using window$? Or should i just bin it? (20 GBP!) (In the video4Linux mailing list
archives there were zero entries concerning this chip. I think i've
managed to make the worst possible choice :-((((
Best Regards,
