怪不得GIMP不支持CMYK颜色模式，原来它的目标不是印刷领域啊。

你可以试试gimp 2.3.0，应该支持色彩模式了：）
不过不知道是否支持CMYK

cinepaint
也是重量级的图象制作软件，
据说是一家商业公司在gimp上面改进来的，为处理电影用的，现在好象是已经停止开发了
原来的名字叫什么记不住了，后来改名字叫cinepaint，外观和gimp没有什么大的区别
我自己也没有怎么用过，
debian下面的安装
apt-get install cinepaint
好象是这么装的，还是很久以前装的了，没怎么具体的用过，制图的专业术语也不懂，软件
界面又是英文的：（

cinepaint 保留了  Gimp 的功能，同时又加入了许多 电影工业必须的特性

linux下的3D max软件。是制作3D动画的好工具，与win下的3D MAX没什么区别。

debian下安装
apt-get install blender

其他linux版本的我也没找到。

Maya 和 XSI,超强的三维图形和动画制作软件,不过是要好多好多$的!

kite

排版用scribus，输出PDF格式非常棒。http://www.scribus.org.uk
软件好而且mailinglist上的人非常热心。

严重的误导，他不是说目标不是PS的印刷领域而是因为他还做不到，Gimp2。4就要开始支持色彩管理了（采用的lcms），CMYK色彩空间也是计划中的事情。
现在他更加不能说是GTK的根基，而要反过来说：gtk是他的根基，虽然gtk是为gimp而出现，但是现在，gtk严格上来说是和为了整个gnome平台（包括win／macosx 等平台环境）而开发的。

BeCome

sodipodi 是个快淘汰的东西了，inkscape开发者正是是从该软件的开发团队脱离出来，原因是部分 开发者认为 sodipodi因为目标太大（＊nix的 ai），而且C语言不适合此类程序的开发，所以才他们跳出来，诞生了使用 gtkmm ,目标明确（就是svg dom 编辑器）的inkscape项目。

顺便题一下sodipodi 又是来自另外一个 软件Gill （gnome illustrator）的。这个gill 的开发者就是后来gnome平台的svg渲染引擎 librsvg 的作者Raph Levien (此时大家应该明白为什么会有个 R 在 librsvg 的名字中了)
现在 librsvg 已经和 libsvg （来自freedesktop.org）合并，并使用cairo来作后端（之前是libart）。已经开始
对svg动画的支持了，也许不久 GNOME 桌面的就会有动画效果的图标主题出现了。
