not exactly. What distribution are you using? As I know, RH, SuSe can. chattr is a default app installed from e2fs packages, although the system file attributes will not be set +i by default.

Another way to run privileged apps by a normal user without loosing system security is to setup SUID & SGID.

先说一下我得环境
redhat9

默认/bin下的文件可以chmod,而且chattr也是默认安装的。不知道你用的是什么dist的

我的是RedHat 7.2，默认下，chattr是没有安装的。（安装的时候，选择的是服务器模式）

而且，/bin/目录下面的是+i属性的。

也许是服务器被攻击。
