New features/updates of SCIM 0.5.1:

    * Multi-screen support was added into X11 FrontEnd      
      (you need gtk+-2.2.x to enable it).
    * Enhanced the reliability of X11 FrontEnd,
      broken clients won't crash SCIM anymore.
    * FreeBSD support has been enhanced,
      now SCIM can be compiled under FreeBSD without any modification.

呵呵，看了我还真没白费力气。这回用FreeBSD的兄弟们的选择就更多了。

不过，你使用的FreeBSD版本也太高了。这好像是个测试版本呀。FreeBSD现在的版本最大的区别是4和5的区别。FreeBSD 4才是巨大的用户群。4和5在在libc的上差别，我就不知道了。但在5下编译的SCIM－chinese是否能在4上运行，我看很玄。

不过FreeBSD在版本上没有Linux那么复杂。如果能含盖4.7、4.8和5.0就差不多了。

scim 是 open source 的，大家可以自己编译。

scim-chinese 的 FreeBSD 的 binary 会在近期发布，是 for freebsd 5.1 的。
